Training

Darenth Valley Radio Society is registered with the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB) as a training establishment for the Foundation and Intermediate Amateur Radio Licence. You must pass the Foundation Course Exam prior to taking the Intermediate Exam and the Intermediate Exam prior to taking the Full licence Exam. Students under 16 MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. All students must provide identification on the day of the exam (16th June). 1. A current passport, photo ID driving licence or other legal document showing their name, photograph, printed name and signature. OR 2. Two current legal documents that have their printed name and signature e.g. driving licence, or a credit card. 3. In the case of candidates under 16 years of age, their Candidate Practical Assessment Record (CPAR), supported by another means of identification e.g. identification by parent, school bus pass, library card, birth certificate, letter from their educational establishment As the course applicants, have to be registered with the RSGB prior to the course, the cut off date will be about two weeks prior to the course.. By helping coordinate and publicise courses at all levels, formats and timings run by individual member clubs we hope candidates will find it easier to source a course, or succession of courses that meet individual requirements. *Current SET clubs include: Bromley & District Amateur Radio Society, Cray Valley Radio Society, Crystal Palace Radio & Electronics Club, Darenth Valley Radio Society, North Kent Radio Society and West Kent Amateur Radio Society.
